Story: Loot revolves around four characters Pandit (Govinda), Akbar (Jaaved Jaaferi), Builder (Suniel Shetty) and Wilson (Mahaakshay Chakraborthy). They all set a plan to Loot and in turn trouble all the wrong people and finally create roadblocks for themselves. The movie is all about how they finally come out of the situations and get rid of all the obstacles.
Story Treatment: The story offers nothing new, in fact it’s an old wine in an even older bottle. Within few minutes of screenplay, you realize that it’s definitely not going to be a fun ride and unfortunately the prediction comes true eventually. There are surely attempts to induce comedy in the flick, but the intentions go haywire, as the characters create chaos in the movie. The story is so dull that it fails to take the narration forward.
Star Cast: Even Govinda can’t attract the audience this time as his screen presence seems totally wasted. Suniel Shetty delivers a fair performance with his straight faced humor and action sequences. Jaaved Jaaferi seems repetitive, while, Mahaakshay Chakraborty gets a blink and miss role and hardly contributes to the plot of the film. Mika Singh does a fair job in his debut. Sexy Shweta Bhardwaj fails to show her acting prowess, though she tries to balance it with her cleavage show.
Direction: As a director, Rajneesh Thakur fails in his comedy genre but manages to take the best out of a few momentary one-liners which tickle the funny bone. However, the story doesn’t build any moment of curiosity. The movie sets an example of a messy film and there is nothing to take back home.
Dialogue/cinematography/music: The music doesn’t add any zing to the film as it is forgettable; also, dialogues lack punches and comic gags. Editing could have been crispier, making the film short and interesting.
Ups and Downs: The movie is not recommended unless you are a fan of multi-starrer movies. Another brownie point if you want to see Rakhi Sawant’s latka jhatkas!
