BAMBOLIM: Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said that for their efforts in getting the Centre to pass the Jan Lokpal bill, the core members of Team Anna were being "chased and hounded" by the government.

Speaking at the ThinkFest 2011, Kejriwal said that the team's "telephones were being tapped" and members' "past lives dug into".

He cited the example of how after Anna Hazaretelephoned him from his native town in Maharashtra expressing his wish to sit in silence at Raj Ghat for a few moments, the Delhi police immediately called him to ask about Anna's programme at Raj Ghat.

Kejriwal said the government is authorized to tap phones of those who are a threat to national security and wondered whether he or Anna Hazare were threats to national security. tnn
