Initial trends indicated that the Opposition BJP candidates are leading in Hebbal and Devadurga constituencies while the Congress in Bidar constituency.
At the end of the fourth rounds of voting in Hebbal, Y S Narayanaswamy of the BJP was leading by 5,000 votes against the Congress candidate C K Abdul Rahman Sharief. Mr Sharief is grandson of former Union Railway Minister C K Jaffer Sharief.
Congress candidate Rahim Khan was leading in Bidar against Prakash Khandre of the BJP by a margin of 2000 votes.
At the end of the 6th round, Shivanagouda Naik of the BJP was leading by 7000 votes in Devadurga constituency against A Rajashekar Naik of the Congress. Mr Naik is son of Venkatesh Naik, ex-MLA.

BJP leads in Deodurg
As the 9th round of vote counting completed in Infant Jesus School in Deodurg onTuesday, BJP candidate K Shivanagowda Naik secured 36012 votes to lead by 7950 votes over his nearest Congress rival Rajashekhar Naik who got 28062 votes. JD(S) candidate Karemma and Independent candidate Shivaraj Dorai secured 4948 and 858 respectively. There were 814 None Of The Above (NOTA) votes.
K Shivanagowda Naik has been maintaining the lead right from the beginning. His supporters were celebrating when counting results were at each round.
Congress leads in Bidar
Congress is leading by 5275 votes after seven rounds of counting in Bidar constituency. A total of 1.25 lakhs are set to be counted in 11 rounds. DC and district election officer Anurag Tewari and Returning officer Venkat Raja , SP Prakash Nikam were present at the counting Centre.
