    Greater Noida: With just over a month left for the second edition of the F1 Indian Grand Prix, the organisers have sold 30,000 tickets, with the maximum sale coming from the corporate bookings.

    "We have touched the figure of 30,000. We are hoping that the ticket sale will now pick up. The BIC has a capacity to accommodate 95,000 fans," Askari Zaidi, vice-president of corporate communication at Jaypee Group, said here on Tuesday.

    Washington, Aug 17: The Obama Administration has announced setting up of an institute for manufacturing innovations which will help prevent jobs going to India and China.

    “This institute will help make sure that manufacturing jobs of tomorrow take root not in places like China or India, but right here in the United States of America,” US President Barack Obama said in a statement.

    “That is how we will put more people back to work and build an economy that lasts,” he added.

    Islamabad, Sep 16 : The father of Pakistan's nuclear bomb Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan has claimed that it was former Pakistan prime minister Benazir Bhutto  who ordered him to transfer nuclear technology to two countries that she named.
    In an interview to a Pakistani newspaper,  Dr A Q Khan said that the transfer of nuclear technology was not so easy  as if one could put it into a pocket and hand it over to another country.

    Chandrapur (Maharashtra), Sep 17:  Two miners, including a project manager, were killed and three others injured in an explosion at opencast mine of Western Coalfields Limited in Chandrapur district of east Maharashtra on Sunday, a top executive said.
    “The explosion took place at around 11:30 AM at the Hindustan Lalpeth Opencast Mines (HLOM) when Shovel Operator R A Bajpai was carrying out excavation in an area where temperature was high due to burning coal deposit underneath,” WCL Chief General Manager (Chandrapur Area) T N Jha told reporters.

    New Delhi, Sep 16: The Delhi High Court has ruled that the Central government cannot be compelled to release grant-in-aid to a school, run by an NGO for differently-abled kids, for paying salary to its staff at par with their colleagues at government institutions.
    A bench headed by Acting Chief Justice A K Sikri reversed an order of a single judge asking the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to release funds to NGO Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) for paying salary to teachers and others at Asha school, meant for differently-abled kids of army personnel, at par with the government employees.

    Dehradun, Sep 16: A fresh series of cloudbursts in three days in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district today left nine persons dead and five injured as several houses collapsed, taking the death toll to 47.


    Cloudbursts struck four villages including Kirorimalla, Timli Badma, Dugur Shemla and Simbal this morning, in which nine persons died and five others were injured, Executive Director of Disaster Management and Mitigation Department (DMMD) Piyush Rautela said.
